A member of the Match Technical Soft Shutter Release family, it is an ornamental shutter release button that will fit most any camera that uses a traditional mechanical cable release that connects through the camera’s shutter release button. The Black Bee-O is a “Bip” and what makes it a “Bip” is it’s 10mm size (Boops and Beeps are 15.5mm) and it’s domed (convex) profile shape. Bips are great for people with smaller fingers or for cameras with small recessed shutter buttons. Bips are pressed with your finger in the traditional way.
The S (short) version is designed for use with the new Leica M type 240 and M-E and Monochrom cameras.
Match Technical uses solid brass to Bips because it does not bind in threads and does not break easily – unlike some metals – eliminating the possibility of our soft releases jamming or snapping off in the shutter button.

Bips are also manufactured to very high tolerances using computer-controlled CNC machining – unlike some poorly made soft releases that we have seen with inaccurate threads made by stamping or casting, which can be so tight as to damage your camera or so loose that they soon become lost. Also, each soft release is individually boxed after painting, keeping them in pristine condition until they reach you.

Match Technical coats the Bips with thick, high-quality gloss paint. This is a time-consuming process, but one that while still hard-wearing, provides a warmer, more comfortable surface than stainless steel or anodized aluminum soft releases, which are left unpainted.
Match Technical soft releases now include
a compression O-Ring.
Below the stem of each soft release you will find a compression O-Ring that serves to help secure your soft release in place. While some of our graphic offerings present whimsical characters, there is a serious application of design, intended to make each these soft releases provide real benefit to your photography. You will find a more natural position for your finger that eliminates searching or missing contact with the shutter button when your eye is on more important things.
When installing, the additional effort required to install the soft release means additional force is needed to remove your soft release.
